LinkedIn is rolling out stricter verification measures to reduce recruitment scams. Users who add or update recruitment-related job titles, such as Recruiter or Talent Acquisition Specialist, must now verify their employment. Executives, including Vice Presidents and Executive Directors, will also be required to complete verification.

The process is simple and free, usually requiring only a company email address. Oscar Rodriguez, LinkedIn’s VP of Trust, said the move “helps job-seekers identify legitimate recruiters and avoid scams.” Paid LinkedIn recruiter users can also continue using the Verified recruiter label.

Company page verification is also expanding. Previously limited and available by request, any business with a Premium company page subscription can now display a verified badge, boosting trust among LinkedIn users.

Since its 2023 launch, more than 80 million users have verified themselves, and the badge can now appear on external platforms like Adobe, showing users as “Verified on LinkedIn.”
